MATERIALS
To make these pieces we use kiln dried PRIME EUROPEAN OAK. In other words, we use top grade timber. All our OAK comes from sustainable sources and is FSC/PEFC certified. Typically golden-brown in colour, with a straight grain and a medium to course texture.
MAKING A PERSONALISED NAME HOOK
We individually make every NAME HOOK to order. Our first step is to prepare the oak, which involves cutting, planing, drilling, routing and sanding the timber. After that, we prepare the key hole, which is used for wall mounting the hook. The next step is to engrave the personalised text, before it is sealed with a clear wax coating. We use clear wax as it does not change the appearance of the oak, it merely acts as a protective barrier from absorbing natural oils in the skin. If you prefer either dark brown or black wax, please let us know by adding a NOTE at checkout stage. Finally we fix the chrome hook, which is screwed through from the back for stability.
PACKAGING
All items are boxed before being packaged for despatch. Wherever possible we use paper or cardboard packaging. Of course we have a duty to do our bit for the environment, whilst at the same time ensuring our products arrive undamaged. Because it is sometimes necessary to use alternative packaging, all of it can be recycled so please do your bit too.

For gifts being sent direct, no invoice details will be included, and please double check the mailing address for accuracy.
SHIPPING
We send all items via Royal Mail or Parcelforce using a Signed For service. Shipping costs are determined by the size and weight of the item ordered, however you can choose whether the item is shipped first or second class. Shipping costs for multiple items on the same order will therefore be determined by the total weight and size of the packaging required to ship.
CARING FOR YOUR PERSONALISED NAME HOOK
An occasional dry dusting should be all that is required. Since this is a natural product, we recommend siting it away from a direct heat source, for example, above a radiator. Similarly, avoid siting the hook close to a water source, such as a shower.

All measurements are approximate. Whilst we take every care to make each item to the dimensions specified, a few mm difference is possible, therefore a slight variance should be anticipated.
