MATERIALS

To make an Oak Candle Bridge we use kiln dried PRIME EUROPEAN OAK.  In other words, we use top grade timber.  All our OAK comes from sustainable sources and is FSC/PEFC certified.  Typically golden-brown in colour, with a straight grain and a medium to course texture.  The candle cups are made from mild steel, are loosely fitted therefore, they can be removed for cleaning.

MAKING AN OAK CANDLE BRIDGE

We individually make every Candle Bridge to order.  Our first step is to prepare the oak, which involves cutting, planing, drilling, routing and sanding the timber.  After that, we engrave the base in preparation for treatment.  Each candle bridge is treated with danish oil, thereby meaning it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.  Once the base and sticks have been oiled they are then assembled.  Finally, we fit the candle cups in preparation for despatch.

PACKAGING

All items are boxed before being packaged for despatch.  Wherever possible we use paper or cardboard packaging.  Of course we have a duty to do our bit for the environment, whilst at the same time ensuring our products arrive undamaged.  Because it is sometimes necessary to use alternative packaging, all of it can be recycled so please do your bit too.

SHIPPING

We send all items via Royal Mail or Parcelforce using a Signed For service.  Shipping costs are determined by the size and weight of the item ordered, however you can choose whether the item is shipped first or second class.  Shipping costs for multiple items on the same order will therefore be determined by the total weight and size of the packaging required to ship.

CARING FOR YOUR OAK CANDLE BRIDGE

Most importantly avoid positioning the candle bridge close to a direct heat source, for instance on top of a wood burning stove.  Equally important, do not place it close to a water source.  Since the base and sticks have been treated with danish oil they will tolerate a wipe with a damp cloth.  The candle cups can be removed to assist with cleaning.  

PLEASE NOTE:

All measurements are approximate.  We take every care to make each item to the dimensions specified, however, a few mm difference is possible.  Therefore a slight variance should be anticipated.
