• Solid OAK-one piece
• Fitted with 4, 12 gauge cartridge case hooks
• 4 drill holes for mounting
• Finished with danish oil
• Lightly chamfered edges

MATERIALS

To make these pieces we use kiln dried PRIME EUROPEAN OAK.  In other words, we use top grade timber.  All our OAK comes from sustainable sources and is FSC/PEFC certified.  Typically golden-brown in colour, with a straight grain and a medium to course texture.  We collect the cartridge cases from our local shooting ground so it’s a lucky dip as to what we get.  However, you can choose BRASS or CHROME caps but not the colour of the plastic casing. As you will see from the image there is minimal plastic showing, nevertheless the cartridge cases protrude approx 2.5cm out so they are visible.  If you are particular about the colour of the plastic casing we recommend you get in touch prior to ordering.

MAKING A CARTRIDGE COAT RACK

We individually make every cartridge coat rack to order.  Our first step is to prepare the oak, which involves cutting, planing, drilling, routing and sanding the timber.  After that, we prepare the cartridge cases by filling them with dowel so they are strong enough to hold weight.  The next step is to fit the cases, which are glued and screwed through the timber.  Finally, the rack is finished with danish oil.

PACKAGING

All items are boxed before being packaged for despatch.  Wherever possible we use paper or cardboard packaging.  Of course we have a duty to do our bit for the environment, whilst at the same time ensuring our products arrive undamaged.  Because it is sometimes necessary to use alternative packaging, all of it can be recycled so please do your bit too.

SHIPPING

We send all items via Royal Mail or Parcelforce using a Signed For service.  Shipping costs are determined by the size and weight of the item ordered, however you can choose whether the item is shipped first or second class.  Shipping costs for multiple items on the same order will therefore be determined by the total weight and size of the packaging required to ship.

CARING FOR YOUR CARTRIDGE COAT RACK

Most importantly avoid positioning the rack close to a direct heat source, for instance on top of a wood burning stove or in close proximity above a radiator .  Equally important, do not place it close to a water source.  An occasional dry dusting should be all that is required, however, it will tolerate a wipe down with a damp cloth if required.

All measurements are approximate.  Whilst we take every care to make each item to the dimensions specified, a few mm difference is possible, therefore a slight variance should be anticipated.
